A friend's traditional wedding

Hello Y'all!

So I sleep walked my way through a friend of mine's traditional wedding back in December.

Hilarity!

For my non-Nigerian readers, most Nigerians tend to have 2 weddings:

A traditional ceremony depending on the tribe they're from and then a regular wedding.

So back to what I was saying,

I had just left the club say like around 5am? (gotta love it)

Then I got a call from my friend like around 7am?

*insert the tiniest cartoon character voice here*

"JUDITHHHHHHH!! WAKE UPPPP!!

U had better be awake!! Please be awake! You had better not miss my wedding!

The car that'll bring you will be coming to get you soon.

Um okaaaaaay, if that isn't enough to jolt you out your sleep, I'm not sure what is.

So I got up, put on the most boring outfit and was on my way.

LOL

Anyway what matters is that I made it to the wedding. :D

Hello People, so I was in Nigeria during the holidays and as always barely took any photos.

Religion: The Us versus Them Approach

Religion is yet another thing that divides us even further as a people.

Yes I said it.

The need to forcefully shove down people's throat reasons as to why your religion is better than theirs makes you no better than any renowned radicalist.

Yes I said it.

The good thing about living in a country like the United States is that it BROADENS your mind.... if you let it.

You get accustomed to seeing people from various backgrounds, things no longer seem/sound as strange or as terrible to you as they would to someone who lives in a country that is not as diverse.

And even if you still find "them" strange/terrible, you subconsciously train yourself to become desensitized to it because ...... well, you have no choice.

You either get with the program or you get the fuck out.

Now where am I headed with this?

I wasn't going to write about this initially because really at this point, it is like beating a dead pig.

.....But then I came across a picture today.

This ridiculously graphic/mind boggling photo had images of people of a certain religious background who were burnt to ashes by people of another religious background.

Now I am unsure as to how accurate this is but ladies and gentlemen, I just need you to wrap your head around the fact that this is still very much happening in 2011.

A couple of weeks back, I left a comment on Linda Ikeji's blog under Steve Jobs' post.

Steve Jobs majority of you may or may not know, was a Buddhist and like I had written in my comment, I am yet to understand why and how that is anybody's business.

But as usual, the ever sanctimonious Nigerians,

The oh so righteous ones who shuttle between heaven, hell and earth, determining who God condemns to hell and who he doesn't, felt the need to go on about the man's religion and what-not.

My comment read somewhere along these lines...

We as a people, need to be understanding and accepting of the fact that not everyone practices Christianity or Islam.

I guess what I had thought was an innocent comment ruffled some feathers 'cos a lady by the name 'Chiamaka' felt the need to preach to me.

I chuckled.

I chuckled not because I felt she was rambling but because it is expected that a CHIAMAKA would be of christian background.

Dear Chiamaka,

This is a little late but I have just one question for you.

Do you HONESTLY believe you would have been saying the same if for instance you were born an Halima??

Our cultural background, upbringing, and life experiences, 9.5 times outta 10 play a VITAL role in determining our beliefs.

You are probably a christian today because that is all YOU know and see as the "truth" but UNDERSTAND that IT WAS NOT Mr. Jobs' or everyone in the world's truth.

Deal-With-It.

We need to OPEN OUR EYES to the world around us.

Poke that bubble around us that hinder us from thinking logically.

We do not have to agree, accept or even understand each other's beliefs but we must learn to

We need to recognize our prejudices and KNOW when to keep them in check (Trust me! I am still guilty of this and will probably always be but I am learning).

We need to understand that the only "salvation" we are preaching when we forcefully tell someone that the religion they hold onto dearly is a lie is WAR.

You only do a good job at pushing people further away from you when you take the Us versus Them Approach.

Last but not least, always remember,

YOU ARE NOT GOD!

P.s- Someone whose neurons are transmitting the right signals to his/her brain can easily understand where my Al-qaeda and Boko Haram comparison came from.

I just stumbled upon this article by Karen Young on ONB.
For a minute, I thought to myself, Wow girl! You really must have been living under a rock...... but then I read the article..

I first heard of this strange term when I was in my second year in university and whenever I think about it I still have the same feeling of incredulity I did the very first time I heard it. Allow me to take you back to a conversation that ensued between a friend and I in the year 2004.

“Rape and beg? What in the world is that?” I asked Stephanie my roommate one evening after our last lecture.
She had looked at me incredulously.

“Are you kidding? Everybody in school knows what rape and beg means, half the relationships you see in this school started out as R&B. That’s the new of song in town,” she said as she laughed heartily.

I didn’t get the joke but I was intrigued.

“Go on Steph” I urged.

And yes she went on; Stephanie went on and indeed schooled me that day.

Let me explain rape and beg relationships succinctly in my own words.

First, boy meets girl ___ Boy makes his interest in girl known ____ Girl likes boy but isn’t sure if he is good enough to be seen around town with ___ Boy invites girl out for drinks ___ girl forgets her past reservations towards him and accepts thinking, where is the harm, I might as well ____ boy and girl end up in boy’s bedroom, they start making out ___ girl gets uneasy when she realizes it is going too far ___ boy presses on ____ girl says “no” ____ boy ignores the “no” thinking, girls always say no when they mean yes anyway ___ boy forces his way and they have sex ___ girl is distressed ___boy pleads and apologizes before he takes girl back home ___ the next day boy calls girl and apologizes again ____ girl relents and agrees to see boy again ___ next time sex isn’t forced because she thinks we’ve already done it once, we might as well do it again ____ boy and girl see each other more often and a relationship blossoms. End of story.

This new knowledge shocked me to no great end; have women become so meek that they don’t see anything wrong with being raped? Or was this the new “thing” with relationships?

After much rumination, I came to the conclusion that some women in our society would rather carry on seeing someone who forcefully had his way with them while others would simply keep avoid the perpetrator as opposed to being faced with the rape stigma. Even worse, some women think forceful sex can only be called rape when extra violence is used and serious bodily harm occurs, a flawed thinking at its best. The fact that you said “no” and meant it (even if you are attracted to him but aren’t ready to be sexually intimate with him just yet) and he still went ahead to exert pressure on you and force his way in, then he has raped you.

Men jokingly say that half the time a woman says ‘no’, she actually means yes. Wrong. It is this kind of accepted mindset that allows men exert pressure on a woman they are determined to sleep with. A woman’s ‘no’ will truly mean no only when women learn to speak out and stand up and fight against being sexually assaulted or overpowered by a forceful male.

I end this story sincerely hoping that the R&B phenomenon is a thing of the past. If you have had or know someone that has had a similar experience please feel free to share.

N.B: there is a select group of women with masochistic tendencies who only enjoy sex when it is violent, obviously this article does not apply to them.

ACTUAL RAPE should not be confused with consensual sex with a little indecisiveness.

I am pretty sure there are lots of girls out there who wish they can take back certain sexual encounters.
Thing is this though and pardon me if I sound a little insensitive here;

You CANNOT cry rape when you wake up the next morning and realize you did something you shouldn't have.

I'm talking verbal AND body language.
You can't be saying NO on one hand, and spreading your legs on the other.
It just doesn't work that way.

So many women cry rape these days when in actuality they weren't.
And yes! there are indeed times when a lady says No but actually means YES.

And how exactly can an ADULT carry on a relationship with her said rapist if she wasn't abducted?

Almost as if I hit some kind of epiphany.
I can't stop playing this album.
I wake up singing at least one song from the album and go to bed singing atleast one.
Ever heard an album where every single song on it is a smash?

My siblings say I'm obsessed but even they too are beginning to confess the genius that is Flavour Na-freaking-bania-... lol that kinda rhymed.

The other day, I heard my baby brother say

Anyway back to Flavour, I think It's going to be hard for him to top this album but the good/bad thing about it is that this album isn't as popular as it should be, so to an extent it works in his favor for future purposes...I guess.

A Love story

Hi guys!

So this past weekend, I was in Dallas for my awesome friend's wedding.
It was an awesome and extremely hot(literally) event.
Like seriously, what's up with the heat in Texas though?
Anyway, I am beyond elated to be have been a part of this wedding.
A wedding/union involving a couple whom you just KNOW are in-love.
A couple that oozes that four letter word so much it becomes contagious.
Ask Sauce Kid, he caught the garter. lol

I didn't really get as much pictures from the event.......I don't know, I am no longer really fond of taking pictures at event.
I mean that's what they have professional photogs for right?
Even the MC at some point said..

"If your camera can fit in your purse, can you please have a seat and let the people who were paid to take pictures do their job."

hahahahahaha
Gotta love Nigerian MCs........ NOT!

However I must say, I do regret not taking any picture with the couple, but it's all good in the hood.

I think I'm going to go back to using Proactiv cos it actually did work well for me when I used it.

I just got mad and discontinued use after I found out the company had withdrawn a total of $700 from my account in one year.

See but the thing with skin/hair care products is that your skin and hair gets used to it after a while, so it's no longer as effective as when you initially began usage.

But I speak for myself.

I remember vividly, trying to do the Aaliyah with the camisole, boxers and baggies as a kid and of course failing miserably while at it.

No one else comes close.

Unfortunately 10 years ago, this month she passed on.

I've never cried for the passing of a celebrity like I did for Aaliyah ..... besides Michael Jackson.

It hurt like I knew her.

I actually planned on writing on this topic a couple of weeks back, it was entitled "single by choice" but then I lost interest.
But without giving away too much, I'll let you read the article...

There is a general misconception that every single woman is praying day and night, for a spouse. This is incorrect. Personally, I find myself praying more about my career and bank account balance than I do about a potential life partner.

This isn’t an article about how I don’t need a man or how men aren’t important. Truth be told, men are important and marriage, when done properly, can be a wonderful thing. But I have come to the realization that marriage is a part of life and not life itself. I came to this realization a few years ago. There I was, 27, single and heart broken over another failed relationship when the thought hit me. “Glory, what if God, has decided that you won’t get married for another 5 years? Are you really going to spend the next 5 years of your life, throwing pity parties and wondering if the next guy, who says ‘hello’ is the one? Surely, there has to be something more fulfilling to do with your time”. There and then I made my decision to focus on things that were within my control. i.e. finishing graduate school, my career, focusing on building my character and other aspects of life.

It’s amazing what such an outlook does to your mind set. It’s utterly liberating. I no longer wonder if the guy I met last week Saturday, is going propose in 6 months. I don’t spend my free time idly browsing through wedding dresses while sighing hopelessly and I find my emotions so at peace that I am able to be absolutely happy for all my friends who are currently in fabulous relationships, engaged or married. Unfortunately those around me are not so liberated in their own thinking.

A few weeks ago, a friend of a colleague came to the office, sporting a baby bump. I congratulated her on her upcoming bundle of joy and new marriage. Only to find her praying for me and advising me to be patient, “that my time would soon come”. I thought it strange that someone who barely knew me would think that my congratulatory messages somehow masked any form of envy for her situation. I mentioned this to my colleague later in the day and she admitted she felt awkward about it too but mentioned that she had done similar to a single friend of theirs earlier.

I’d have put her actions down to pregnancy hormones, if I hadn’t experienced various versions of this ‘single woman needs a man’ attitude in various aspects of society. A friend of mine, recently, went to speak to her pastor about some challenges she was facing at work. After 30minutes of speaking with him, she left without discussing her problem. Why? Because the pastor had decided the bigger issue, was her unmarried status and began to pray about that instead. Another friend of mine complained to me about how her married friends completely cut her out of social activities because she always had a different date and their husbands think she is a ‘bad influence’.

Single men are also not excluded from this new form of single women xenophobia. For some reason, men think, hinting at the prospect of marriage is sufficient to keep any single women under lock and key. Recently, a guy who I had decided not to date told me he didn’t understand my reason for being unnecessarily picky. Apparently, my age didn’t afford me the luxury of time and since he had already told me he was willing to propose, in a few months, he didn’t see why I was being hesitant. Clearly, he had me mistaken for someone who actually gave a damn.

With these various attitudes, it’s no wonder some single women find life frustrating. Sometimes, I wonder if we actually want to get married because we’ve found the right person or because society wont leave us alone. You’d think with all the stories of divorce, people would be a little more careful before they said their ‘I do’s’. On the contrary, our society has made marriage into this utopia that is the answer to all things. Whereas, life itself still continues after marriage. The woman you are, your career, your values, education, financial status and character are still ingredients you need to make life pleasant after marriage.

I see getting married, like the days after secondary school when everyone was anxiously waiting to enter university. Some of my friends traveled immediately after the final secondary schools exams, while I waited to write JAMB. Those days, conversations were filled with who got what result, what school they got accepted into and what they were studying. Some people had to repeat various exams just to enter their preferred universities. Today, no one remembers any of that because we are all at enviable levels in our respective careers. The same is true about marriage, one day, in a few years time, no one will care who got married first or who got married last.

I think accepting being single is a big step in accepting who you are and giving yourself room to enjoy life and all it holds, instead of constantly concentrating on what’s missing. Most guys can spot a woman fishing for a proposal a mile away and will use that as a tool to play you as they see fit. But when you are a confident woman, who is about her business, you wouldn’t have time for any time wasters and only the truly serious men will be able to get your attention. The sooner everyone admits that there is more to life than being married, the sooner we single ladies can have some peace. We will all get married at some point, but in the meantime there are other things to get on with. There are places to visit, new people to meet, promotions to fill and money to be made! So please, the next time the urge takes you to pray about my single status, kindly include my need for a bigger account balance in such prayers. Many thanks!

There really isn't much to add or take away from this.
She pretty much said everything and more.
There is this belief that every single person out there is miserable and dying to get hitched.
People fail to understand this simple logic:
Getting a man/girl is NOT the problem. Getting the right person for you on the other hand, is the HARD part.
And sadly not many can boast of that.
Not even those who are married.

Then again there are indeed a lot of girls out there who are beyond desperate so I guess I can't really fault the general consensus.

- Fix or build something with your hands. It’ll show her that you are capable of taking care of a home.

- Know how to cook and clean. It’ll show her that you don’t need her but that you WANT her.

- Get your passport and travel. A man needs to see the world.

- Communicate without cursing. You don’t need to curse to make a point. Cursing shows lack of substance.

- In bed, take care of your woman first. When she’s satisfied you are DA MAN!!!

- Stay in shape. It’ll show her that you care about yourself and therefore are able to care about her.

- Take care of your responsibilities. Anything less is unacceptable. A boy is irresponsible, not a man.

While I do think he offered some GREAT advice, I am of the school of thought that no one rule applies.

How to be a man, be yourself!

Do what you genuinely believe in your heart is right for you and your partner.

I don't really like it when a guy tries so hard to be a "gentleman."

It should come from within and not you trying to impress whomever.

It comes off as contrived and truth be said, as little as 2months into the relationship, all that holding doors, grabbing chairs, gentlemanly stuff will be thrown out the window.

Because it wasn't you to begin with.

Respect above all is really how to be a man.

But if you really are that clueless, you can always take a page out of the Boris Kodjoe twit-book.

You honestly can't fail with these tips.

Gel Manicure and Pedicure

I was one of those girls who lived at the nail shop.
Every other week it seemed, I was at the shop for a mani and a pedi ............. then I became a broke college student.

I figured the every week mani/pedi money could cover my lunch for about 4-5days.
Approximately 30 days if I decide to live off the dollar menu at El pollo loco or McDonald's.
Besides I could do my own darn nails myself.
So I stopped going.

I still get pedicures every now and then but it's more of a sporadic, I want to treat myself kinda thing.

Funny enough! My nails began growing stronger and longer after I started doing my own manicures.
All that acetone and stuff isn't exactly good for your nails.

Take it back February this year, I felt it was time for one of my sporadic-let-me-treat-myself-pedicure and so off to the nail shop i went.

While at the shop, I somehow allowed the beautician to convince me into trying this "new rave of the moment."

THE GEL MANICURE/PEDICURE

He raved on about how it lasts longer and blah blah blah
Before I knew it, I had about 5 Asian folks who could barely speak english shoving gel manicure and pedicure down my throat .
Being the easily swayed consumer I can be, I figured why not?
Might as well try something new Ay?

So I decided to get it done.
A manicure inclusive.

After he did what it was he did, he asked me to put my hands under this UV-LIGHT thingybob because it is "good for the gel."

I was reluctant about this initially because of some of the dangers associated with UV-light but he assured me it was fine.
Plus he was giving me a huge discount so I pretty much felt like I had to dance to the beat of his drum.

DISCOUNT/SALE = Every broke chick's favorite word.

*sigh*

Anyway, within what felt like a minute of placing my hands under this light, he said,

Ok! All done!

I'm like...

Errr Are you sure?

Regular manicures usually take about 30 minutes, if not more to dry up completely on natural nails.
Well atleast for me.
However, to my amazement, my nails were indeed dry.

So that's one advantage of the gel manicure.
Another advantage would be that it DOES last longer.
The polish lasted for about 3weeks.
Usually my polish begins to chirp within like 4days.

So all this was good and dandy ...... up until I realized that I had made the BIGGEST MISTAKE ever by trying out this so called rave of the moment.

It's been what?? 5 months??? and my nails are STILL struggling to survive from the after effect of the gel.

My nails are no longer as thick as they used to be -- DISADVANTAGE 1

It feels like layers of my nails shed off -- DISADVANTAGE 2

Plus It left ridges on some of my finger nails and Toe nails -- DISADVANTAGE 3

RIDGES THAT HAVE REFUSED TO GET LOST!

Do you see it on the first toe-nail of my right foot? Ugh!

Also it takes FOREVER to get the polish off -- DISADVANTAGE 4

I am not even sure why it took me so long to speak on this but I was just in the process of painting my nails and automatically became overwhelmed with annoyance.
So I felt the need to save some nails by sharing my experience.

In my opinion,

THE GEL MANICURE/PEDICURE IS NOT WORTH IT... in the long run.

It's a great option for artificial nails but I wouldn't suggest using it on your actual nails.
So SAVE your nails ladies, Fellas save that of your girlfriend's or heck even yours!

Nehoo, while at it, it is important to note what bikini styles work for your body and what doesn't.

Reckless Driving

I want to share some very sad news that absolutely breaks my heart. The weekend of July 4, a family of five from Houston, Texas was involved in a terrible car accident. The family, who was returning home from vacationing in Colorado, was hit head-on after a driver veered into oncoming traffic while trying to pass another vehicle.

The parents were killed upon impact and their three children (nine-year-old Peter, 8-year-old Aaron and 6-year-old Willa) are in serious condition. Doctors have already performed abdominal surgery on Aaron to repair lacerations to his internal organs and have provided Peter with a spine-stabilizing procedure. Unfortunately, it is unclear whether either boy will be able to walk again. The daughter, Willa, survived with only a few broken bones.

My plea to all of you is to consider these children as a part of your family and help them by donating to a fund that will help pay for their short-term and long-term medical care. Head over to their donation page for more information.

This is a case that pulls on my heartstrings because it resulted from reckless driving and could have been avoided. Please think of these children and donate to the Joshua and Robin Berry Children’s Trust.

Some stories just leave me speechless sometimes.

I have a phobia of driving and after getting into two accidents (although minor) a couple of weeks ago, the phobia has only gotten worse.

I see the way people drive and wonder if they are sane.

I'll be honest!

I am not the perfect driver and I'm pretty sure no one is...but sometimes stopping to ask myself ..

Where exactly am I in a hurry to and is it worth my life or that of others?

Stops me from doing something as stupid, selfish and as inconsiderate as what the driver above did.

What a sad story!

Jungle Justice is Disgusting!!

I write this post with tears in my eyes and anger in my heart.

Like how do people enjoy seeing other people in pain, let alone be the inflictor??

I watched THIS VIDEO in amazement!

In utter shock, disgust.

It literally made me sick.

Warning! It is very graphic! I couldn't even watch it in its entirety.

I was on the impression that this madness had been banned in Nigeria?

Why on earth should a necklace thief deserve such punishment???

Let us not fool ourselves here!

We view pictures on many fabulous Nigerian blogs and ohhhh and ahhhhh over them, but that is NOT the life of the average Nigerian!

Many are suffering!!

Some can barely feed 3 proper square meals a day.

Some have families they need to fend for by all means possible.

This may sound harsh but from my understanding, 60% of the "awon big boys" in Nigeria or heck! the world at large are or were once thieves of some sort??

I say this because I have noticed this jungle justice thing to be spear-headed by men.

I have also noticed that men tend to be a lot more accommodating of this very terrible act.

I try my best not to judge because I know life can be very hard.

Sometimes things become a matter of life of death.

What if this man had to steal that necklace to SURVIVE?

Why are people so fucking heartless??

What sickens me to death is the fact that most of these barbarians seem to get a high off of this.

Like they have gasoline just waiting in the corner...

Like it's their fucking necklace he stole!!!

What I find more disturbing about this whole ordeal is that some victims of jungle justice are innocent.

Let me tell you a story I never forgot despite having being told so as a kid.

A family friend of ours was at the market one day, when a lady began to scream "Ole! Ole! Thief! Thief!" while pointing towards the direction of the young man that had just walked by her.

Immediately a mob began to form around this young man as they proceed to beat him to a pulp.

Before one could utter Jack Daniels, A LADY goes into her shop, gets kerosene and proceeds to douse it on the young man.

But right before one of the animals could throw the match stick on him, the lady who had initially screamed "Thief" began to scream " Pleaseeeee! Wait! Hold it! Please! I found my money"

And that was how a young man barely escaped death.

The mob dispersed and went on about their business like it's a freaking routine.

It is extremely sad because PETTY thieves are the ones made to go through this horrifying experience.

Hardcore criminals usually walk away scott free from their crimes or get punished the decent way.

I am not saying anyone deserves such treatment but you get my point.

People often make remarks like...

Well it starts from being a petty thief to becoming an armed robber

While this is somewhat true, it is also a very insensitive remark to make.

First of all, NOT every petty thief goes on to become a hardcore criminal.

Secondly, In the court of law, Every crime has a punishment deemed fit for it FOR A REASON!

Would it be fair to sentence someone to death for lying to an officer?

Or something in that regard?

No! Because it makes no sense and it is just downright unfair!

I don't know man! My thoughts are incoherent right now

But what I do know is this...

These people are cold blooded barbaric murderers who need to be arrested and caged somewhere in the jungle with lions, tigers and bears.

I don't know about you but someone who can set a fellow human being on fire is worse than any necklace thief.

I do not condone stealing in any way shape or form and I am all for the perpetuator getting punished to the full extent of the law but I repeat,

JUNGLE JUSTICE IS NOT ONLY DISGUSTING BUT IT IS ALSO INHUMANE!

Sidenote: I may be the only one but I actually like Cassie's songs.

She may not know how to hit those notes but when it comes to today's standard for musical artists, she is very much okay!

What hurt her musical career in my opinion was her lack of consistency and management.

Bad boy records is probably the worst record label to get signed under.

Rihanna remained consistent, now look where she is today and we all know she isn't the best singer in the world.

But hey! U never know, Cassie may still make it big in the music scene, but first she would have to get up out of Diddy's wack management but I don't see that happening anytime soon and y'all know why.

Ah well!

Deal Breakers/Turnoffs

I was watching the new Vh1 series entitled "Single ladies"

And I have to say, the show has really grown on me.

I had my reservations regarding this show at first:

The rather amateur acting

The fact that every single C-list black actor/actress/socialite has made a cameo in the show and they are only on episode 5.

I can go on and on but I'll stop here.
However, despite all this blank stare worthiness associated with the show, some episodes have been quite interesting.

An episode in particular had me "rolling" because a friend of mine and I had just recently had a conversation regarding that issue.

To cut the long story short,

One of the ladies (Stacey Dash) met this chef guy, who appeared oh so perfect and bla bla bla and she was convinced she had finally met "the one"

......................Well that was up until he told her right in the middle of them getting jiggy with it, that he doesn't "dine on certain cuisine."
Basically he doesn't perform oral sex on a woman (cunninglus) but expects a woman to give him oral sex (fellatio).

Needless to say, she kicked him out of her house within 3 seconds.
hahahahaha

Fellas! for some women,

You know what I find funny?
It's that most guys would probably agree with him.

Him: *proceeds to ramble as if he had hot yam in his mouth*....

Um wellllll, erm, well I can forgive that one sha. Because a girl doesn't have what I have.

So basically, what I got from the convo was that cheating on him with a fellow guy was more of a blow to his ego than anything.
Well as for me (& most ladies I'd like to think), cheating is more of an emotional thing, I mean our ego does get bruised in the process but it's more of "He no longer loves me" than "Was her_____ better than mine?"
Okay! Maybe both.
Hahaha!

Having said that, if a guy as much as attempts to cheat on me with a guy...

To be honest, the thought of it alone is very diarrhea worthy.

I've been watching re-runs of 'Fresh prince of Bel-air' lately, and I can't help but notice how beautiful and stylish ALL the ladies that were ever featured on that show were.

The colorful suits, the roller-set hair, the beautiful jewelries,......Ahhhhhhh! Swoon!
I can go on and on...
They looked sooo good, you would think they were playing dress up.
Style was IT back in the 90s & 80s.

The character 'Hilary Banks' in particular was always on key whilst looking uber gorgeous...

oK this is about Hilary But look at Aunt Viv tho..... Dayuuum!!

Her curly hair!

Her witty bubbly personality!!

In all honesty, these photos do not really do justice to her style but I tried, I really tried to find good photos to depict what I am talking about, but to no avail :(

The character Hilary was played by Karyn Parsons who I believe still looks gorgeous till date.
